Cognitive Functions/Processes are the cream of the crop, the cherry on top! when it comes to personality tests. To me at least.
I must explain. Cognitive functions add a buttload to personality theory. The entire concept is instrumental in understanding how the human mind develops a personality. And yes, it is just theory, but an awful useful theory.
Cognitive function theory was first posited by Carl Jung. After that, its my understanding that next the Myers-Briggs team developed the theory further, and since then several other devoted personality type theorists have jumped on the bandwagon.
Cognitive Functions theory makes Personality Tests so much more useful. I can hardly believe how archaic my understanding of personality theory was prior to learning about the cognitive functions.
The functions give a more in depth look at what is going on inside us. I'm telling you...they are useful as heck.
